Pennie Rose

Pennie Rose, 70, of Independence, KY, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Survivors include her daughter, Jessica Lanius; son-in-law, Drew Lanius; sister, Fran Roberts; brother-in-law, Mike Roberts; and former mother-in-law, Florence Hall.

Pennie was preceded in death by her twin sister, Pattie Rose; her mother, Pat Rose; and her father, Frank Rose.

Pennie loved to read, grow houseplants, feed and watch birds—especially hummingbirds—and rescue animals. In recent years, she developed a passion for the Japanese healing practice, Reiki, and she became a Level Three Reiki Master.

Pennie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. A private memorial is being planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stray Animal Adoption Program, PBS, or NPR. adoptastray.com
