Peter Paul Robertson
October 24, 1946 – March 16, 2025
Peter Paul Robertson, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marsha Robertson, and their children: Joshua, Kate, Steven, and Cati. While these names reflect his immediate family, Pete leaves behind a much larger circle—an extended family of friends, students, collaborators, and community members whom he helped nurture and support throughout his life.
Pete will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor, generous heart, and unrelenting curiosity. A lifelong learner and teacher at heart, he spent seventeen years as an Assistant Professor at Jefferson Community and Technical College, where he brought joy, challenge, and inspiration to the classroom.
Beyond academia, Pete gave his time and talents to countless community groups, churches, and arts organizations—offering his expertise in audio/visual production and technical theater. He served faithfully behind the scenes, making programs and performances shine.
An avid videographer and photographer, Pete documented the world around him with care and purpose. His creative vision leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and stories that his family and community will hold close for years to come.
He was a proud member of LVL1 Hackerspace, a man of deep faith, and a ballet dancer. He dedicated many years to scenic design and lighting at the Courtney School of Dance, where his artistry and leadership helped bring countless productions to life.
Pete’s absence will be deeply felt—but the light he brought into the world lives on in the lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed.

Halloween meant fog machines, lights, sound machines next door to us as we offered kids candy from a glass pumpkin. Kids would take a candy and then run next door to see the magic Pete created to bring them joy. Pete was a joyful creator!

I was blessed to meet Pete in high school a very long time ago! He nurtured my love of photography and introduced me to SIU, at Carbondale. Our lifelong friendship waxed and waned but never stopped, as we moved around, grew our families and expanded our lives. Mine is certainly richer for having known Peter Paul, the “older man” in my life! Blessings to his family and all the friends we share.
