Richard Taylor

Richard Taylor, 86, of Cloverdale, Indiana, passed away on March 4, 2026.

He is survived by his sons, Donald (Melissa) Taylor, Matthew (Abigail) Taylor, Stephen Taylor, and Richard Taylor Jr.; daughter, Ellen Taylor; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary; brothers, Carl, Clarence, and Steve; and sister, Carol. 

He loved learning about military history, fishing, camping, and woodworking. 

Richard was a proud U.S. Army Staff Sergeant from 1957 to 1967. He was awarded the Purple Heart, which symbolizes supreme sacrifice, courage, and dedication to the nation. Richard was also awarded the U.S Army Expert Marksman Badge. He proudly served in Alaska during the Great Alaska earthquake. 

Cremation was chosen, and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
