Robert "Blue" McKnight

Robert Bob "Blue" McKnight, 82, of Salem, Indiana, passed away on February 8, 2026. 

Blue is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce McKnight; daughter, Bobbi (Mike) "McKnight" Barriger; and grandsons Justin (Kaylee) Barriger and Joshua Barriger. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion "Mac" and Della McKnight; and his sister, Kathrin "McKnight" Graves.

Blue was a proud member of Local 395 Ironworkers and Master Masons Calumet Lodge 379. He served as an Ironworker in Hammond, Indiana, for over 50 years. He was a proud 1964 graduate of River Forest High School in Hobart, Indiana. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. 

Blue and his wife, Joyce, lived in Northwest Indiana for most of their life, in Chesteron and Valparaiso, but moved to Salem six months ago to be with his beloved family.
