Robert Hardin "Bobby" O'Riley, age 58, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, July 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bobby lived life with an unmistakable energy that drew people to him. Tall and slender with a raspy voice that could be heard across a room and a laugh that was impossible not to join in on, he had a way of making every gathering brighter simply by being there. He never met a stranger, and it didn't take long before a conversation with Bobby turned into a friendship. His outgoing personality, quick wit, and welcoming nature made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Above everything else, Bobby's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a father. His daughters meant the world to him, and no matter where life took him, his love for them never changed. He was also a devoted brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend who valued family above all else. He believed the best moments in life were the ones spent with the people you love, sharing stories, laughter, and making memories that would last a lifetime.

Bobby embraced life with a free spirit and an adventurous heart. Nothing made him happier than climbing onto his Harley-Davidson and heading out on the open road. Riding wasn't just something he enjoyed—it was part of who he was. The freedom, peace, and excitement that came with every mile perfectly matched the way he lived his life. Friends who shared those rides with him will forever remember the smile on his face and the joy he found in every journey.

When football season arrived, Bobby could always be found cheering on the Louisville Cardinals. He celebrated victories passionately, endured defeats faithfully, and enjoyed every game surrounded by family and friends.

One of the gentlest reflections of Bobby's heart was the love he had for his dog, Bella. After adopting her from the Humane Society, Bella became more than a pet—she became family. Their bond reflected Bobby's compassionate nature and his willingness to open his heart to those who needed love the most.

Like all of us, Bobby wasn't perfect. He could be incredibly stubborn, especially when it came to taking care of his own health. His family often found themselves reminding him to take his medicine, a battle that usually ended with Bobby doing things his own way. Today those memories bring both tears and smiles because that determination was simply part of the man everyone loved.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, John Edward O'Riley; his mother, Judith Oehler; his grandparents, Bettye and George Wilson, Faye O'Riley, and Thomas Harrison; and his uncle, Bruce Harrison.

He leaves behind his daughters, Pamela O'Riley, Tabitha O'Riley, and Amanda (Hayden) Moore; his sister, Tina (Greg) Plahuta; his brothers, Edward (Terrie) O'Riley and Jamie (BJ) Hodge; his uncle, Steve (Connie) Harrison; his cousins, Kristen (Tate) Mason and Kelly Harrison; his nieces, Lauren (Nina) Rebecchi, Lindsay Embry, and Brittany O'Riley; his nephew, Lee O'Riley; and many extended family members and lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory.

At only 58 years old, Bobby's passing leaves an emptiness that can never truly be filled. There were still more roads to travel, more football games to watch, more jokes to tell, more family gatherings to enjoy, and more memories waiting to be created.

His legacy is not measured by possessions or accomplishments, but by the countless lives he touched. It lives on every time a Harley-Davidson rumbles down the highway, every time the Cardinals take the field, every time Bella's story is shared, and every time family gathers to laugh at one of Bobby's unforgettable stories or imitates that familiar raspy voice. He taught those around him that life is meant to be lived fully, laughter should be shared often, and family should always come first.

Though Bobby's journey has ended, his story continues through everyone who loved him. His laughter will echo in cherished memories, his kindness will live on in the hearts he touched, and his love will remain with his family forever. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

Per Bobby's wishes, he will be laid to rest privately. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
