Robert John "Bob" Murphy

Robert John “Bob” Murphy, 79, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026.

   Born on April 7, 1946, in Pewee Valley, Kentucky, Robert was the beloved husband of Charlotte Wilson Murphy, whom he married on May 28, 1966. He was a devoted father to Linda (Ron)Antz, Jeanette Marowelli (Widow of Michael), Jennifer (Richard) Carpenter, and Kathy Lyninger; a proud grandfather to Miranda (James) Payne, Christopher Gatewood, Hannah Marowelli, Michaela Marowelli, Brady Reidy, Jeremy (Shannon) Marowelli, and Scotty Lyninger; and a cherished great-grandfather to Tytus, Tobias, Raylynn, Edan, James Jr., Quamain, Chris, Lucas, TJ, Jocelyn, Ethan, Logan, and Mason. He has several Nieces and Nephews.

   He is survived by his siblings, Bill Murphy and Mary Laemmle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vita Ritz Murphy and William Lenord Murphy; siblings Geraldine (James) Heslin, Ronald (Claudette) Murphy, Doris (Sister Amelia) Murphy, and Father Wayne Murphy; brother-in-law Dave Laemmle; sister-in-law Carole Murphy; two sons-in-law, Mike Marowelli and Chris Gatewood; and his in-laws, Kenneth and Lorene Wilson, and Dwayne and Carla Wilson.

   Robert had a long and accomplished career, working for Creasy Company, Crestwood Elementary School, and as the former owner of Carefree Maintenance Inc. He was a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Church and proudly served six years in the Army National Guard as a mess sergeant.

   Robert will be remembered for his dedication to family, his strong faith, and his service to his community. His warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

   Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, at St. Aloysius Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Mass at 2:00 p.m.
