Robert Wolford
8/12/1941 - 9/19/2024
Robert "Bob" Wolford, born on August 12, 1941, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024.
He is survived by his brother: Richard “Dick” Wolford; his children: Andrew and Nadera; his grandchildren: Izabella, Aurora, Serene, and Zekia.
Bob, as many knew him, was a kind and selfless man, full of patience and always there to listen. He truly loved sitting outside in the warm sun, quietly observing nature—the trees, the flowers, the animals, the river—just appreciating the peaceful scenery and always noticing the smallest details. Bob had many layers, with eclectic tastes that spanned nature, traveling, history, art, music, and movies.
He was never judgmental, no matter what someone’s situation was. His passion for helping others shone through in his dedication to assisting people on their road to sobriety. He would walk with you from your first step forward and continue walking beside you. Many will remember Bob on his back porch, which was surrounded by windows—that was his sanctuary.
He was never difficult or mean-spirited, and there wasn’t a selfish bone in his body. Bob was grateful for everything, including the small things most people take for granted. He always pushed himself to stay positive, even in challenging times.
"Robert, although you are physically no longer with us, your presence will never leave us. The love and memories will always remain in our hearts and you will never be forgotten. Now you're free and at peace, and we know you're up there petting Sadie on your new sunny porch."

Bob and I worked together for a number of years. He was a good man with a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by many people. I felt privileged to listen while he shared stories of his life’s journey. Rest in Peace Bob. You’ve earned your reward.

Sending prayers and condolences to his family. Bob sat next to me and my BFF Hazel when we worked at the Census Bureau. We looked forward to work because of Bob! He kept us laughing everyday! We had this supervisor named Dominga and she was always walking over and telling us three to cut out all the laughing. That made us only laugh more! Others were always laughing around us but she only got on us! Finally one day they finally fired Dominga and we three celebrated all week! She had been so mean to us three! Bob made the job bearable believe me because it was a very stressful job. We adored Bob! I would stop by to see him at his store on Charlestown Rd for a long time but my car got hit and I got sick so I couldn’t drop by to say Hi anymore. I’m SO very sorry about not knowing he passed away until Hazel just sent me his obituary, or we would have definitely paid our respects. He was such a a special guy! I just wanted to let his family know how much he meant to others. Your all in our prayers.
