Roberta Carroll Romeo
01/25/1959 - 11/01/2025
Roberta Carroll Romeo, a beloved mother, Abuela, and wife with a lifelong passion for spiritual growth, animals, and a wild spirit for travel, completed her earthly journey on November 1, 2025, at the age of 66. She passed peacefully at her home in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born in Monterey, California, on January 25, 1959, to Dallas Edward and Pamela Crutchfield Carroll, Roberta spent her life searching for deep spiritual connection. She often recalled her favorite memories of Panama City Beach and found constant joy in music and dancing. She applied her passion for deep personal relationships to her studies at Trevecca Nazarene College, earning a degree in Communications and Public Relations. She raised her family in Tampa, Florida, before later moving to Louisville.
Roberta dedicated herself to helping others through her spiritual practice. While an Office Manager at Timberview Pet Clinic in Gainesville, Florida, she was known not just for her administrative skills, but for her gift as an empathetic listener who cared deeply for the pets and their owners. She was recognized for always exceeding expectations with both clients and coworkers, and notably, became the first woman to manage a department at Leslie Controls in Tampa, FL.
When she wasn't caring for others’ pets or exploring a new corner of the country with her late husband, Fred, Roberta was often found deepening her knowledge of various spiritual paths. Her infectious laughter and ability to find the positive side of any situation with a quick joke were a testament to her unwavering, bright outlook on connecting with the people around her.
Roberta has been reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Fred, who preceded her in death in February 2024. Married on October 22, 2002, their partnership was a profound testament to enduring love, built on shared adventures, unwavering support, a lot of laughter, and a deep connection to their shared spiritual journey.
Roberta’s spirit lives on through her children: Nina Rojas Seitz (and her husband, Anthony Seitz) of Louisville, and Christopher Rojas of Louisville. She was the adored Abuela to three loving grandchildren: Devon Muller, Avi Seitz, and Bodhi Seitz. She had an unparalleled ability to make the mundane magical, and her grandchildren will forever cherish memories of her made-up, silly songs, their shared love of music and books, and her cherished besitos (smoochies).
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas Edward and Pamela Crutchfield Carroll, and her beloved sister, Lee Anne Carroll, who passed in June 2021. She will be profoundly missed by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were truly like family.
To know Roberta was to be touched by her deeply kind heart. We find comfort knowing she is now dancing, laughing, and discussing profound spiritual topics once more with Fred. We will carry her memory forward every time we put on 80’s and 90’s jams and remember the genuine joy and infectious laughter she shared with everyone she met.
A celebration of Roberta's life will be held privately. All are welcome to share a favorite memory of Roberta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Roberta's honor to the Newberry Animal Hospital Compassionate Care Fund, an organization close to her heart that provides pet owners financial assistance for life-saving veterinary treatment. In loving memory of Roberta Carroll Romeo.

One of my happiest memories was the day that I was blessed to officiate Fred and Roberta’s marriage to each other. They were soulmates and best friends. It is still hard for me to know I can’t pick up the phone and say hi to my friend, so I say it out loud and know they hear. Besides all that was written above, she was a loyal friend and knew we could talk about anything. Dear Roberta, you fought through many of life’s lessons and won. You never gave up and even in the middle of your tough times encouraged others. To you and Fred, love you. Until we will meet again… fly with the angels!
