Rosetta Anne Eckerle Tucker
March 17, 1958 – August 31, 2025
Rosetta Anne Eckerle Tucker, age 67, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where she spent the majority of her life.
Rose was a creative soul with a heart for beauty and self-expression. In her younger years, she danced ballet and carried that same grace and gentleness throughout her life. Her love for the arts was reflected in many forms—she enjoyed hands-on crafting, practiced digital design, and explored creative outlets through coloring. She studied computer graphics at a local technical college and developed a unique ability to turn ordinary photographs into vibrant, personalized works of art. In recent years, she found peace in quiet moments, bringing color and life to each page she touched.
Her compassion extended beyond her art—she was a proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project since 2012, showing deep appreciation for those who served our country.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret LaVerne Starkey Burnside; her two sons, Joshua Alan Tucker Sr. and wife Lucretia Wynette Tucker, and Derek Jonathan Tucker; her grandchildren, Joshua Alan Tucker Jr. (J.J.) and Arielle Grace Tucker; and her siblings, Kathy Lynn Eckerle and John William Eckerle. She was preceded in death by her father, William Alan Eckerle.
In accordance with her wishes, her ashes will be scattered during a private memorial on Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Kentucky—a place of peace and personal meaning.
“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as indeed the rest of mankind do, who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose from the dead, so also God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus.”
