Sammy Lee Gibson

10/28/1949 - 8/24/2024

Sammy Lee Gibson of Lanesville, IN passed away on August 24, 2024. Sammy was born on October 28, 1949, to William Stanley and Luetta Maude Gibson, and at the age of 74, he departed this world leaving a void in the lives of many people.

Sammy graduated from Georgetown High School, class of 1967 and he stayed in close contact with many of his high school classmates including best friend Jimmy Sturgeon, Lenne Keithley and Tim Seacat.

He is survived by a loving family, including sons Shane (Shannon) and Sean (Julie); 5 grandchildren, Keeton, Crew, Asher, Will, and Nora; sister, Wanda, brother, Paul (Donna), brother, Bill (Joyce) and brother, Lynn (Judy-deceased) and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and incredible wife of 44 years, Barbara Gibson.

Sammy was a loving husband, proud father, and doting grandfather. He loved FSU football, listening to his vinyl collection and golfing. He especially enjoyed spending time in Melbourne Beach and watching his grandkids’ sporting events.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for friends and family.
