Sandra Mathisen

Sandra Mathisen, 66, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born January 19, 1959, in Chicago, she grew up in Dolton, Illinois, graduated from Thornridge High School, and later earned an associate degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University.

Sandra was a devoted mother, grandmother, and animal lover. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, dolphins, outdoor time, and relaxing with Sudoku, crosswords, and Facebook games. Above all, she treasured time with her family and pets.

She is survived by her daughters Christine (Jordan) Luna and Corin Matijczuk; grandchildren Caleb, Sydney, and Kaydince Luna; and her longtime partner Steve Matijczuk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alpha and Barney Podlasinski.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
