Sharon Lee Bennett

Sharon “Shari” Lee Bennett, 73, passed away in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023 following an extended illness.

She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on May 15th 1950, to Julia Ann Martin-Bennett and Chester Earl Bennett Jr., and she grew up in a large family with four siblings who traveled extensively with their parents during their father’s military career. Shari graduated from Hamilton Township High School in Columbus, Ohio and attended college at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a younger brother, Christopher Bennett,; and is survived by three siblings, Pamela Owens, Beau Bennett, Rebecca (Jim) Armstrong; along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A celebration of Shari’s life will be held from 1:30 to 3:30p.m. Sunday, November 19th, 2023 at the John W. Black Community Center located at 1551 N. Highway 393 in Buckner, Kentucky. Shari wanted her memorial service to be a joyous occasion, so there will be music, ice cream, cake, and hot chocolate.
