Sheila Sheehan, age 74, passed peacefully on January 1, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was born on March 29, 1951, in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Robert and Hazel Craig. Sheila was a graduate of Danville High School, Class of 1969, and went on to attend Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned her nursing degree.
Sheila worked as a Registered Nurse and Discharge Coordinator at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital before stepping away from her career to become a devoted stay-at-home mother. She was deeply involved in her children’s activities and dedicated her life to caring for her family. Sheila was an exemplary mother and a remarkable human being who embodied unconditional love, strength of spirit, and boundless generosity. Her kindness and compassion were evident in the way she cared for those around her.
She was a member of Valley View Church, a faithful Kentucky Wildcats fan, and found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Sheila is survived by her three sons: Craig (Lisa) Greer of Shelbyville, Michael (Alisha) Sheehan of Shepherdsville, and Aaron Sheehan of Louisville; her brother, Gary (Linda) Craig of Buena Vista, Colorado; and her seven grandchildren: Jacob, Nicholas, and Hudson Greer; Natalie, Allison, Michael, and Skylar Sheehan. She is also survived by many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
