Shirley Broyles, 72, of Louisville, passed June 26th, 2024 peacefully at St Mary's and Elizabeth Hospital with her family by her side. Shirley was born in Nashville, TN to Ida and Vernon Hayes Sr. She also spent time growing up in Dickson, TN. She is preceded in death by both her parents; her siblings, Paul Allen Wright, Lily May, Vernon Jr, Mary Elizabeth and Ellen; her long time partner and father to her boys, Jerry Broyles; and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer. She is survived by her brother, Richard Hayes; best friend and nephew, Kenneth Smith; her beloved sons, Jackie (Brenda), Gordon (Terri), Timmy (Bridget), Keith (Claudia), Jason (Peaches), and Michael (Daniella); her loving grandchildren, Amanda, Lil Timmy, Brittany, Sydney, Lil Jerry, Bradley, Brittany C, Kaycee L, Christen L, Roger K Brooklyn, Sean L, Dylan, Shawna, Tyler, Summer, Kiersten and Trinity; 20 great-grandchildren; friend and once domestic partner Bill Rodgers; she also leaves behind many other friends and extended family she loved. Shirley enjoyed being with her family and friends. She loved cookouts, get togethers and Holidays. She loved having a good time and seeing everyone having a good time. She lived a life marked by the deep bonds she formed with her family and the community around her. The most profound testament of her life was the love and respect of and for her family especially the boys she raised and the sorrow felt by those she's leaving behind. She was a fearless protector. She loved her boys no matter what. Being her friend or part of her family was valued because you know she always had your back. We will all miss this beautiful fun and warm-hearted caring woman. Our mother, mother in law, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. We hope that everyone that remembers her will remember her with a smile or a great memory that they got to share with her.
