Stephen Otis Silvers Sr., 62, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on August 19, 2026. He was born in South Bend on January 23, 1964, to Eugene Silvers Sr. and Loretta Johnson Silvers.

Stephen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether to a family member, a friend, or a stranger in need. Stephen had a special love for animals and never hesitated to show them kindness and affection.

Stephen enjoyed many things in life, especially bowling, golfing, sprint car racing, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Bowling was a huge passion of his, and his talent and love for the sport even earned him recognition in the newspaper.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Tracey Silvers and his nine children: Josh (Brianna) Zillmer, Sherry Cassler, Austin (Grace) Boocher, Stephen Silvers Jr, Kristen Silvers, Alicia Frye, Jennifer (Jamie) York, Travis (Taylor) Silvers and Amanda Barker.

He was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren: Mia, Weston, Chrishon, Chrishod, Cashton, Carter, Kyri, Corbin, Evelynn, Jerricho, Payton, Kaelyn, Watson, Bryson, Brayden, MacKenzie, Sam, Charlie, and Lucy.

Stephen is also survived by his siblings, Gene (Liz) Silvers, Catherine (John Sr.) Gende, Don (Anna) Silvers, Deb (Jim) Sardi, Judy (Rick) Sutton, Donna Silvers, and Loretta (Mike) Kazmierczak. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Silvers.

He is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews, along with many other extended family members and friends. 

Stephen will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.

Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital House, in honor of Stephen Silvers .
