Stephen Parker
09/26/1958 - 03/27/2026
Stephen Parker, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Steve was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 26, 1958. He was a 1976 graduate of Westport Road High School.
He is survived by his daughter, Erica Mann; son, Maxwell Parker; grandchildren, Robert Bruce, Anthony Mann, and Lauren Mann; siblings, Denise Melone (Larry), Daniel Parker (Mary), Mary Ann Capps, Jana Miller (Matthew), and Angela Parker; many nieces and nephews; and wonderful friends, especially Jamie Buckson, Chris Wilburn, and Tom Weaver. Steve is also survived by his beloved pets, Mojo, Ingy, Luke, and Leia.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Parker; his mother, Mai Parker (née Rider); and his siblings, Anthony Parker, William Parker, and Frank Parker.
Steve was a skilled mechanic and the proud owner of Westport Road Automotive. He was especially known for his deep knowledge of Volkswagens and was well respected in the VW community. People didn’t just go to him because he was good at what he did—they trusted him. He was always willing to help, share what he knew, and make sure things were done right.
Outside of work, Steve had a love for collecting, especially G.I. Joe figures and Star Wars memorabilia. He had an incredible collection and could talk for hours about both—he truly knew it all and enjoyed sharing that passion with everyone.
More than anything, Steve will be remembered for the kind of person he was. He worked hard, showed up for the people he cared about, and would do anything for anyone without expecting anything in return.
He had a big heart for animals, especially dogs. He never turned away a stray and always made sure they had a safe and loving place to land.
Steve will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the chance to know him.

I was one of Steve’s toy collector friends. The first time I met him was at his VW shop on Westport Road, 30 years ago. I was looking for some G.I. Joe items. He gave me more than I had asked for. I enjoyed hanging out with him at the G.I. Joe Toy Expos in Louisville the past several years. Steve was always kind and generous. He will be missed.

Steve was always the sweetest, kindest person. I never saw him mad or heard him complain. The last time I saw him was at an ice cream shop across from Southern High School. I was there with some of my family. I had not seen him in several years. He was just as sweet as he ever was. I was so glad to have that nice accidental visit. My heart goes out to all of you. He was very special!
