Stephen Stanford

In loving memory of Stephen D Stanford, who gracefully completed his earthly journey on April 28, 2024, at the age of 53 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Stephen was a cherished husband to Leann Stanford, and a devoted father to his sons Tyler and Hunter Stanford.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Lillian Stanford, father Joseph Stanford, nephew Matt McIntyre, and nieces Laura Shields and Tina Jones.
Stephen leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, fondly remembered by his brothers Joseph and Danny Stanford, along with his sisters Pat Jones, Kathy Messer, Debbie (Mike) Warren, Sandy Stanford, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins whose lives he touched deeply.
A passionate supporter of U of L sports, Stephen's heart beat for Cardinals basketball and football. He found joy in cheering for his team with fervor and loyalty. Additionally, his love for horse racing added another layer of excitement to his life.
A diligent worker, Stephen dedicated his time and energy to his roles at Executive Inn/Crowne Plaza, Beechmont Baptist Church, and the Louisville International Airport. His commitment and work ethic were admired by all who knew him.
A celebration of Stephen's life will take place on May 11, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Beechmont Baptist Church, located at the corner of South 3rd Street and Wellington Avenue. In honoring his memory, let us cherish the moments shared, the love given, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Stevie, you’re the best big brother/ uncle a girl could have you was always there for me and always having fun joking on me and laughing that’s one thing I will forever miss is your laugh and your heart! I know times were so hard for you and I know how strong you were to the end . You truly show the what husband and a father should be like with so little not many can say that one thing you had was your love , your heart things ! The strength it took for you to do the life you did is just Amazing! I’m so proud and grateful Blessed to call you my uncle/big brother! Till I see you again please give everyone up there my love ! I will always cherish our memories forever!
