Susan Knowles

Susan Knowles, 74, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on January 23, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, Indiana.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather (Matthew) Cox of Salida, Colorado; and sons, Arthur J. Webb III and John "Marvin" Webb, both of Newburgh, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Knowles; brother, Louis H. Knowles of Cleveland, Ohio; parents, the Reverend Louis R. Knowles and Fransue Knowles (Oagley) of Cleveland, Ohio.
She graduated from John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended the University of Evansville in Indiana.
Susan was known for her vibrant personality. She was a creative soul who enjoyed playing the flute, gardening, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. She loved all things Victorian and Civil War; this was evident from her lifelong collecting of antiques and historical pieces.
A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends in April 2026.
Cremation was chosen, and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
