Terry Weber, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the home of his niece, Mary Jo Kolb, in New Albany Indiana. Terry was lovingly cared for in his final months by Mary Jo Kolb, her husband Mike, and her son Chris Hampton. Their devotion provided comfort and companionship during his final days. A special thanks to Bristol Hospice for their care in his final few months.

Born on April 6, 1943, in Louisville Kentucky Terry was the beloved son of the late John Elliott Weber, Sr. and Mirah Martha (Schmidt) Weber. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lt. Col. (retired) John E. “Jack” Weber, Jr., and his sister, Mary Kathryn “Mary K” (Weber) Giffin Allen, his nephews Mike and Paul Weber and niece Beth Ann Cordero. He is survived by his nieces Mary Jo Kolb, Kathy Ellington, Margaret “Peggy” Blair, Jennifer Reynolds, Julie Jensen, Dawn Speer and nephew Dennis Giffin. Terry’s family roots in Louisville remained an important part of his life.

Terry had a lifelong love of the outdoors and was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. Summers often found him teaching swimming, canoeing, and sailing at Cox’s Park for the Louisville Red Cross. His dedication to these activities inspired countless young people and helped foster a sense of community and adventure

Terry attended and graduated from Western Kentucky University, where his academic excellence earned him a Fulbright scholarship, enabling him to study in Japan. After graduation, Terry began his teaching career at Waggener High School. His commitment to education and lifelong learning led him to pursue a law degree from the University of Louisville Law School. Terry passed the Bar exam in 1974 and began practicing law, demonstrating his versatility and passion for helping others.

Upon retirement, Terry moved to Key Largo Florida, where he continued his love for water activities and teaching by instructing scuba and snorkeling and piloting dive boats throughout the Keys. His enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge and guiding others remained strong, even in his later years.

Terry Weber will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, dedication to education, and his entertaining Christmas and Derby parties. He touched many lives through his teaching, community service, and love of the outdoors. His family and friends hold cherished memories of his kindness, wisdom, and passion for life.

A private family service will be held to honor Terry’s memory. Terry’s legacy lives on in those he taught, mentored, and inspired. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen
