Thomas Dodson

Thomas Dodson, age 65, passed away peacefully in his home on July 24 th , 2025. He
was a 1978 graduate of East Noble High School in Kendallville, Indiana. A proud
veteran, Thomas served in the Army as a Paratrooper in the 82 nd Airbourne division.
After his service in the military, he worked for his brother Donald’s roofing company in
LaOtto, Indiana, for many years. He finished his working career as a long-haul trucker
for Swift Trucking. Due to medical reasons, Thomas left trucking and lived out the rest of
his years in Brownsburg, Indiana. Thomas was known for his sense of humor and ability
to make everyone in the room laugh. His greatest memories were the ones spent on
Cape Cod, Massachusetts, with family and friends.

Thomas was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Donald Dodson, Sr. and Anne
Marie (Shields) Dodson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Sipes, and
brother Robert (Robbie) Dodson. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Ashley Dodson,
and granddaughter Malorie McWright, both of Portland, Michigan, his siblings Donald
(Peggy) Dodson, LaOtto, Indiana, Karen (Steve) Hicks, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania,
Michael (Kelly) Dodson, Avilla, Indiana, John (Lanisa) Dodson, Statesville, North
Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family plans to have Thomas cremated and have a celebration of life later in the fall
at the home of his beloved brother, Donald Dodson, in LaOtto, Indiana. Arrangements
will be made for a 21 Gun Salute and Flag ceremony to take place at his celebration.
His family will gather to scatter his ashes on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on his next
birthday in July 2026.
