Thomas McCullough

Thomas Phillip McCullough, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home on August 8, 2024, in Louisville, KY, after a long illness. Thomas was born on December 9, 1958, in Louisville, to his loving mother, Grace Rush McCullough, and father, Jack I. McCullough, who both preceded him in death.

Thomas was a friend to all he met and always wore a warm smile on his face despite the challenges of being mentally disabled from birth. He enjoyed a life-long fascination with anything that flew.  He also enjoyed reading, writing his book, and watching golf and James Bond movies.

Thomas is survived by his brothers, John Gregory McCullough, Mark Andrew McCullough (Susan), and George Vincent McCullough (Chelsea); his sister, Ann Maria Cleary (Daryl); as well as his aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and housemates.

Tom’s family would like to extend our deepest heartfelt thanks to the Directors and Staff at Southwest Center for the Developmentally Disabled for their genuine love and compassion, and outstanding dedication and care for Thomas for so many years, and especially in the last 6 months of his life. This remarkable organization strives to help disabled people reach their goals and dreams, and works in creative ways to support them in our community.  A celebration of Thomas’s life will be held Thursday, August 29th from 4 pm to 8 pm at The Aero Club of Louisville - Bowman Field Airport, 3333 Roger E. Schupp Street, Louisville, KY 40205. 

Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
