Timothy Alan Selter

Timothy Alan Selter, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 67.

Tim was born on April 6, 1959, to Arthur M. Selter and Stella Patterson Selter. He attended Atherton High School and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Meinrad College in Indiana.

Throughout his working years, Tim was employed by the Courier Journal, UPS, and General Electric. He was also a talented painter and enjoyed taking on painting projects and side jobs.

Tim was a quiet and humble man who lived a simple life and found joy in the things he loved. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and was an avid walker. One of his greatest gifts was his ability to play a variety of musical instruments, particularly the guitar and banjo. Music was a special part of Tim’s life, and he loved entertaining others with all types of music, especially his beloved “silly songs,” which brought laughter and joy to those around him.

In his younger years, Tim brought his musical talents and storytelling abilities to Druthers’ Restaurant, where he portrayed the character “Andy Dandytale” and entertained customers. His creativity continued throughout his life, and he later created props and shared his gift for storytelling at the Louisville Free Public Library.

Tim was a man of faith and a practicing Catholic. He attended Mass regularly at Holy Spirit Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life.

Tim is survived by his brothers, David, Mark (Angela), and Artie (Sherri); and his sisters, Donna Mattingly and Martha Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur M. Selter and Stella Patterson Selter, and his brothers, Dan and Mike.

A Requiem Mass, burial at Calvary Cemetery, and a celebration of Tim’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.

Tim will be remembered for his quiet nature, creative spirit, musical talents, sense of humor, and the simple joys he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
