Wanda Peto-Valdez

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wanda Peto-Valdez, age 87, on December 17, 2025. Wanda passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 19, 1938, in Harlan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John and Grace Huff Curry.

Wanda was a homemaker who was an avid cook and loved gardening, playing the lottery, and listening to country music.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; her children, Calvin Joe Turner, Gracie Gail (Steve) Barth, Terry Peto, Ron (Beth) Couch, and Lauren (Tom) Ungaro; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, sister Louise Whitman and brothers Glen Curry and David Curry (Connie).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, William Peto; her loving son, William (Trina); her parents, John Curry and Grace Huff Curry; and her siblings, Florence Baird, Joann May, Barbara E. Smith, Lilley Rose Curry, Bert Curry, William Curry, and James Curry.

Wanda also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. Gone but not forgotten.
