Wesley Samuel Wentzell
09/16/1982 - 04/27/2024
Wesley Samuel Wentzell passed away on April 27, 2024 in Bloomington, Indiana at the age of 41. Wess, as he was fondly called by his family and friends, was born on September 16, 1982 in Conyers, Georgia to Joseph Samuel Wentzell and Angel Ellison McGuire.
Wess spent his youth growing up in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. As a child, Wess and his brothers were inseparable and oftentimes could be found creating mischief together. He attended high school in New Smyrna Beach, Florida where he developed a love for the water and outdoors.
Professionally, Wess was a skilled concrete finisher. Wess perfected his craft through countless hours of hard work and eventually supervised concrete crews for a major developer in Nashville, Tennessee.
Wess’ main hobbies were a reflection of his childhood. He loved the ocean and could be found fishing, relaxing on the beach, and any other activity that allowed him to be on the water. Wess loved to lift weights and workout; seeking advice on how to become “jacked” from his older brother. More importantly, Wess loved his family and much desired to have his own.
Wess is survived by his mother, Angel Ellison McGuire, his maternal grandparents, Dixie and Dick Bassett, his siblings Charles (Christy) Wentzell and Rachel (David) Watson; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Krista, Hannah, Bode, Levi, Payton, and Cade. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Samuel Wentzell, and brother, Brandon Davis Wentzell.
A service to honor the life of Wesley Samuel Wentzell will be set at a later date. Wess was a gentle soul and will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
