William Avery Holt, Jr. (“BJ”)

William Avery Holt, Jr. (“BJ”) passed away on October 23, 2025.

He is survived by his son, William Avery Holt III (Samantha) of Elizabeth, Indiana; his daughter, Samantha Holt Denton of Shelbyville; his sister, Ronetta Holt Stucker; and his brother-in-law, Jason Stucker. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; his niece, Mandda Casey (Donnie) of Frankfort; his great-niece, Kira Johnson Branham; several cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Holt; his father, William Avery Holt Sr.; his sister, Rebecca Holt, who passed at 18 months of age; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

BJ was a 1983 graduate of SCHS. He was an avid horseman whose greatest passion was caring for his horses and enjoying trail rides with friends. In his younger years, he also enjoyed bowling in leagues and playing softball.
