William Thomas Babbitt of French Lick, Indiana entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2023 at Springs Valley Meadows, French Lick, Indiana. William was living at home and developed blood issues and ended up in Springs Valley Meadows for 30 days. He was born at home, Cane Run Road, Louisville, KY on September 4, 1938 the oldest of 11 children to the late Alonzo H. Babbitt and Ossie Bell Stein Babbitt. William also had 3 half brothers and sisters. William married Betty Jean (Myler) Babbitt. Betty still survives and is living at Springs Valley Meadows in French Lick. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brother and two sisters; Raymond Overstreet, Nina Croninger, Robert, Clifford, J.D., Darrell, Ledie and Bonnie Mae Babbitt.

William graduated from New Albany High School. His trade was a Builder/Carpenter in Construction 65 years of his life. 

He Pastored at the Pentecostal Church of Zion for 30+ years. 

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, golf, travel, watching Westerns on TV, and later in life Zero turn mowing. 

William is survived by one daughter, Deborah Jean (David) Moffatt of Chattahoochee, Florida; one son, Thomas Wayne (Elaine) Babbitt of French Lick, Indiana; three sisters and two brothers, Emogene Zimmerman, Earl Babbitt, Elima Nichols Herb Babbitt, Sue Hardesty; a niece, Willa Fay Brown; four grandchildren and one step grandchild, DJ Moffatt of New Castle, Indiana, Jenna Moffatt of Orleans, Indiana, Brittany Moffatt (Sam Insyxiengmay) of Chattahoochee, Florida, and Austin (Danielle) Moffatt of Chattahoochee, Florida, and Whitney (Afran) Abutin of San Diego, California. Nine great grandchildren and one step great grand child, Shawn, Keelyy and Hunter Moffatt; Hayden, Kinsley, and Ryleigh Hagmier; Gavin Moffatt, Jayvin Richardson and Thailya Insyxiengmay; and Parker Abutin.

William was known to the family as "Pappy". You could find him eating out most every day of the year, wearing a short sleeved flannel shirts and loving driving the handicap carts around WalMart. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family.
