William Charles Maier III
06/27/1957 -9/22/2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Charles Maier III, affectionately known as "Butch," who left us at the age of 67 at his home in Louisville, Kentucky. A proud graduate of Trinity High School, Class of 1975. Butch dedicated over 20 years of his life to TARC, where he made lasting friendships and cherished memories.
Butch was a passionate sports fan, with a particular allegiance to the Kentucky Wildcats, and he could often be found cheering for his team with friends and family by his side. His love for baseball was evident in his extensive collection of signed baseballs, capturing the essence of his favorite players.
In addition to his love for sports, Butch cherished lake life and found joy on the water with his boat. Whether on the lake, relaxing, or simply soaking up the sun, he treasured the moments spent with family and friends at the lake, where laughter and fun ensued.
An avid Elvis Presley enthusiast, Butch took great joy in collecting memorabilia that celebrated the King of Rock 'n' Roll. His home was a gathering place for family and friends, where laughter, sports, and camaraderie filled the air.
Butch is survived by his loving sister, Ruth Crabtree (Dave) and brothers, Michael Maier (Sharon), Ronald Maier (Tammy), and Kelly Gebhart (Annette). He leaves behind cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. As well as his best buddies, Big Al, Kenny, and many others who held a special place in his heart.
Butch will be remembered for his warm spirit, infectious smile, and the love he shared with those around him. He was known to many and loved by all.
A celebration of Butch's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Butch's name.
Rest in peace, dear Butch. You will be deeply missed.
