Winston Lamont Scott

Winston Lamont “Monty” Scott 70, went home to be with the Lord March 5, 2026. Monty was born on February 4, 1956, in Dayton, OH, at Wright Patterson AFB to S.O. and Joella Scott. He is survived by siblings Bryan Scott, Carmen Rivas (Felipe), and Nathan Scott. Nieces Andrea Scott, Janelle Sanderman (Marc), Makayla Womack, and nephew Felipe S. Rivas. Great-Nieces Savaya Barnes, Myra Sanderman, Ziza Harpen, and great-nephew Zion Harpen. Aunts Mary Lee Burns and Blanca McKee and numerous cousins and dear friends. Monty was preceded in death by his parents, S.O. and Joella Scott, sister Kym Black, nieces Antoinette Vigil and Lelauni Scott, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Fishing trips to Canada with his father, grandfather and brothers as a young boy instilled a lifelong love for camping, hunting, and fishing. Monty was an active Cub Scout and Boy Scout for many years where his camping and fishing skills were put to good use. Monty attended Harrison High School in Colorado Springs, CO, and was active on both the baseball and wrestling teams. Monty’s other interests included motocross biking and muscle cars. Monty was employed as a heavy equipment machinist and was also proficient as a general handyman, enjoying painting, carpentry, plumbing, and tiling. In accordance with Monty’s expressed and written wishes, there will be no memorial service. The family has entrusted Magnolia Cremations with final care.
