Matthew Michael Weber
11/27/1990 - 01/16/2024
Matthew Michael Weber was born November 27, 1990 in Mesa, Maricopa Co., AZ to Michael D. and Catherine M. (Landerfelt) Weber. He died January 16, 2024 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY. He was second in his high school class, graduated from Arizona State University, and was a third year dental student at the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry. Prior to dental school Matthew worked for State Farm Insurance on the catastrophe response team and visited many locations throughout the United States. He also worked for Shelter Insurance and was responsible for claims throughout northern Indiana.
Matthew loved life, his family, and his many friends. He was known for his intelligence, quick wit, wry sense of humor, and contagious smile. Matthew never met a stranger and was an engaging personality. He was the light of his parents’ lives and, without fail, made them proud every single day. He was a loving brother, a delightful nephew, an amusing cousin, an entertaining classmate, and a good friend. He was kind and generous to everyone he encountered. Matthew loved a variety of music genres, a vast array of movies, books that told a good story, silly and sometimes ridiculous television shows and multiple stand-up comedians. He was smart and funny and serious and sentimental.
While he was with us, the world was a better place; it has lost a particular brightness with his passing.
He is survived by his parents of Lancaster, OH; his younger brother Jonathan of Glendale, CA; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He has left us too soon, will be sorely missed, and never forgotten.

Matthew sat near me in west lab for preclinical work. D2 year everyone relies on each other for company and motivation to get through projects. Matthew and I would always anticipate seeing each other for any last minute lab work. We would just laugh about it because we both procrastinated. I’ll miss his presence for sure- he made the world brighter.

Matt was one of my closest friends in dental school. He had a sense of humor like no other, and together we could have easily hosted our own stand-up comedy special. He brought an energy into a room that I’ve never seen anyone else have. I remember during our lunch breaks, I would be coughing by the end of lunch from laughing so hard for a solid hour. Matt was a special person and I sure will miss him.

What can I say that anyone reading this doesn’t already know. This guy was simply one of the best humankind had to offer. I very much looked forward to spending time with him during the one, maybe two chances a year that he was in town for the holidays. He was so warm, funny, intelligent, compassionate, empathetic, and down to earth. He made you feel heard and important. Anyone can aspire to be for others what Matthew was for his friends and family. I consider it an honor and blessing that our paths had the chance to cross. I’ll miss laughing with you the most man. Sleep in heavenly peace, Matthew.

I only got to be with Matt one evening but, I found him to be witty, caring , friendly & engaging. He encouraged me that my Cannon was doing well and would be successful in dental school & beyond. My heart goes out to Matt’s parents, family and dental school family as they mourn the loss of this wonderful young man gone way too soon.. He will be deeply missed by our Cannon his other dental school family !
