Matthew Michael Weber

11/27/1990 - 01/16/2024

Matthew Michael Weber was born November 27, 1990 in Mesa, Maricopa Co., AZ to Michael D. and Catherine M. (Landerfelt) Weber. He died January 16, 2024 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY. He was second in his high school class, graduated from Arizona State University, and was a third year dental student at the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry. Prior to dental school Matthew worked for State Farm Insurance on the catastrophe response team and visited many locations throughout the United States. He also worked for Shelter Insurance and was responsible for claims throughout northern Indiana.

Matthew loved life, his family, and his many friends. He was known for his intelligence, quick wit, wry sense of humor, and contagious smile. Matthew never met a stranger and was an engaging personality. He was the light of his parents’ lives and, without fail, made them proud every single day. He was a loving brother, a delightful nephew, an amusing cousin, an entertaining classmate, and a good friend. He was kind and generous to everyone he encountered. Matthew loved a variety of music genres, a vast array of movies, books that told a good story, silly and sometimes ridiculous television shows and multiple stand-up comedians. He was smart and funny and serious and sentimental.

While he was with us, the world was a better place; it has lost a particular brightness with his passing.

He is survived by his parents of Lancaster, OH; his younger brother Jonathan of Glendale, CA; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He has left us too soon, will be sorely missed, and never forgotten.

I had the pleasure of meeting Matt only once while in
Louisville for a first annual Mom of Dental Students weekend a precious D3 got started for her Mom to meet some fellow Dental Moms . Matt was just as described in his obit -witty, kind, personable, & a light in Louisville darkness . My son Cannon, a D2 At Louisville was lifted by his wit and encouragement during some
Hard times & he is grieving the loss of his friend gone way too soon . My husband and I cannot imagine what you are feeling losing your precious son way too soon. Our thoughts and
Prayers go out to you during this unimaginable time . Please know he was such a spark at Uof L and will be forever missed by my son and his other D2 -D3 family. Allison & Phillip Johnson

Matthew was at our house fairly frequently at holidays the last few years, since he lived in Indiana/Kentucky – Christmas, Thanksgiving. Easter. It was always a blessing for him to join us… and he always made sure to take any leftovers home with him! On several occasions, I would go to bed around 11 and he and Anna would solve world problems till 3 or 4 in the morning. His was a kind soul and he enriched our lives. He was snarky, compassionate, witty, and loving – all good. He is missed, but he is with us watching from the heavens. God Bless, good and faithful servant Matthew.

Upon meeting Matt, I was instantly drawn to his witty banter and his happy-go-lucky mentality. He was such a kind, free spirit. Now, his spirit is truly free. Miss you brother, the world is going to be a lot less bright now.

Several years ago when Mathew worked for State Farm Insurance he was working not to far away and was able to come to my house for the annual 4th of JULY FIREWORKS and BONFIRE EXTRAVAGANZA. There was lots food, family and friends, fireworks and a huge bonfire. After everyone left Mathew and I sat in my truck parked in front of my garage and cranked up the tunes and drank beer for over an hour till at least 3am. That will always be a special memory for me.
