Rosetta Anne Eckerle Tucker

March 17, 1958 – August 31, 2025

Rosetta Anne Eckerle Tucker, age 67, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where she spent the majority of her life.

Rose was a creative soul with a heart for beauty and self-expression. In her younger years, she danced ballet and carried that same grace and gentleness throughout her life. Her love for the arts was reflected in many forms—she enjoyed hands-on crafting, practiced digital design, and explored creative outlets through coloring. She studied computer graphics at a local technical college and developed a unique ability to turn ordinary photographs into vibrant, personalized works of art. In recent years, she found peace in quiet moments, bringing color and life to each page she touched.

Her compassion extended beyond her art—she was a proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project since 2012, showing deep appreciation for those who served our country.

She is survived by her mother, Margaret LaVerne Starkey Burnside; her two sons, Joshua Alan Tucker Sr. and wife Lucretia Wynette Tucker, and Derek Jonathan Tucker; her grandchildren, Joshua Alan Tucker Jr. (J.J.) and Arielle Grace Tucker; and her siblings, Kathy Lynn Eckerle and John William Eckerle. She was preceded in death by her father, William Alan Eckerle.

In accordance with her wishes, her ashes will be scattered during a private memorial on Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Kentucky—a place of peace and personal meaning.

“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as indeed the rest of mankind do, who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose from the dead, so also God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14 (NASB 2020)

I was Rose’s Home Health Aide, Rose was my first client through my new career. She was always so happy every morning I came and I looked forward to coming to her home to help out.
She loved her plants, and loved to color and place everything on sticky notes.
She was an absolute light to be around.
She will be deeply missed .

My mom dropped me off at Uncle Mark and Rosetta’s when I was 5 years old to get a haircut by Rosetta. I remember her telling me I would be so darling with a Bob haircut. When my mom came back to pick me up, she just about lost it. She was very upset that all my hair was cut off, and Rosetta just laughed and laughed….then she said "she’s just cute as a button now! "

So many great memories of the times I spent with Rosetta. She was such a beautiful and joyful soul. Although we had not seen each other for decades I will miss the thought of her being out there somewhere and will cherish the memories. May God give the family that peace that passes all understanding. May you find comfort in the loving arms of each other and Jesus. Amen
